Global Radio, owner of Capital FM & Heart networks is launching a daily deals website to attract more local advertisers. The soon to launch Welovelocal.com will cover 20 cities.
They hope the daily deals service will help the company continue to connect with local advertisers and consumers.
The website and daily email will produce similar offers to its rivals Groupon, LivingSocial and Wowcher, such as up to 90% savings on a range of local products, experiences and services.
Global Radio’s managing director of regions, Mark Lee said: “Unlike other deal websites, through our 400 strong local field sales force working with over 10,000 businesses across the UK for many years, we are an incredibly trusted partner to local advertisers and are therefore well placed to launch into this market.”
The leading deals and coupons site Groupon, attracts 3 million unique visitors on average a month, according to comScore. Vouchercodes.co.uk are its closest competitor who have about 2 million users visit each month.
