StatCounter, the free website analytics company claims that during November 2011, Google Chrome surpassed Mozilla Firefox as the second most used Internet Browser in the World, sitting only behind Microsoft Internet Explorer.
The stats as of December 2011 show Chrome now has a market share of 27.3% (14.85% December 2010), compared to that of Firefox with 25.3% (30.76% December 2010) and Internet Explorer still in the lead on 38.7% (46.94% December 2010).
The stats show a rapid rise for Chrome since its release in 2008 and that it continues to eat into Internet Explorer's market.
In 2004 it was estimated that IE had over 90% of the market share worldwide. Could this be the year its number one position comes under serious threat?
